West Central Technical College
With four campus locations in the state of Georgia, the West Georgia Technical College, formerly the West Central Technical College, is a part of the Technical College System of Georgia. The campuses in Waco, Carrollton, Douglasville, and Newnan were originally part of West Central Technical College, but a merger in 2009 led to the renaming from West Central Technical College to West Georgia Technical College. The college primarily serves a seven-county area, encompassing Carroll, Douglas, Coweata, Haralson, Meriwether, Heard, and Troup.
West Georgia Technical College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. In addition, several programs offered by the college are recognized by other program accrediting agencies. For instance, the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs has accredited the Accounting, Marketing Management, Business Administrative Technology, and Business Management programs. Also, the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs has recognized the Medical Assisting and Surgical Technology programs at West Georgia Technical.

The Student Life Program is designed to provide assistance and confidential counseling services for students' personal situations potentially affective academic performance or well-being. The Student Life Program offers 24-hour telephone access and assessments, short-term counseling services, community resources, and a comprehensive referral network for continuing services with licensed mental health counselors.
